Supporting Utilities, Developers and Engineering Teams across New Zealand and the Pacific
Rapid Technical Support for Critical Energy Infrastructure
Cirflow provides specialist engineering support for critical electrical infrastructure where rapid intervention and structured technical assessment are required.
We assist utilities, developers and project teams facing equipment failures, commissioning issues or operational constraints that require experienced engineering oversight to restore systems safely and efficiently.
This capability is particularly relevant for remote and island power systems where limited redundancy means infrastructure failures must be addressed quickly to maintain network stability and generation capacity.
Emergency Engineering Support
Cirflow can support infrastructure owners and operators with:
- Technical investigation of equipment failures
- Structured recovery planning and risk assessment
- Coordination of testing and commissioning activities
- Transformer and protection system fault investigation
- Engineering oversight during equipment replacement or energisation
- Development of temporary operating strategies where required
Our focus is on restoring system functionality safely while ensuring underlying issues are properly understood and documented.

Example Project – 6MW / 24MWhr BESS Transformer replacement

Cirflow was engaged by Tonga Power to support the replacement and recovery of a faulted transformer associated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
Following the failure of the original unit, Cirflow assisted with planning and implementing the replacement of the transformer with an available spare in order to restore system capacity before the Christmas period.
Engineering support included planning the transformer replacement, coordinating testing and commissioning activities, and technical verification prior to energisation.
Following successful commissioning of the replacement transformer, detailed testing of the faulted unit was undertaken to determine the cause of failure.
The BESS system was successfully returned to full operational capacity prior to Christmas 2025.
Supporting Remote Power Systems

Emergency response work often occurs in networks where:
- Redundancy is limited
- Specialist technical resources are scarce
- Infrastructure downtime has significant operational impact
Cirflow has experience supporting power systems across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, providing practical engineering support where rapid mobilisation and clear technical decision-making are required.
When Engineering Support is Required
Cirflow can assist when infrastructure owners require experienced engineering support to:
- Investigate electrical equipment failures
- Coordinate structured testing and recovery activities
- Plan and manage safe energisation of infrastructure
- Restore generation or network equipment safely to service
